Planeteers Club, Compost Club and WeCyclers Club are now a pivotal part of the WMS Green Team.  The students work hard collecting waste and diverting it from the landfill.

Summary

The Planeteers Club removed many pounds of waste from the landfill by sending certain items to TerraCycle.  We collected 60 lbs. of drink pouches, 90 lbs. of snack bags, 3 lbs. of energy bar wrappers, 6 lbs. of oral care products, 4 lbs. of tape products, and 20 lbs. of writing implements for TerraCycle this school year. Less waste was generated by removing compostables from the landfill containers. We now have compost bins from SSF Scavengers and we fill five of the big bins each week with all of our organics.  The Planeteers Club, Compost Club and WeCyclers clubs are a success and will continue to help keep our school green in the future years! We diverted 10,880 gallons of organics from being landfilled!
