Action Project:

Waste Reduction Campaign

Brief Description of the Project

Students and parents create a campus-wide waste reduction campaign.

Full Project Description

This may involve creating the following programs on campus: waste-free lunch days, promoting the use of reusable water bottles, collecting single-sided paper on campus to be reused, community clothing donation, recycling on campus, and organics collection on campus.

For the campaigns students can create posters, fliers, daily announcements, or articles in the school’s newsletter to educate others. Students can also teach other students about the campaign through classroom and assembly presentations. They can perform a skit or puppet show to teach others. Students can even present their waste reduction campaign to school staff and/or the PTA.  Additionally, school-wide contests can be used to create the posters and a slogan for the campaign.
