Action Project:
Classroom Visit and Certificate Presentation for Water
Brief Description of the Project
The classroom teacher invites a County of San Mateo RecycleWorks Program representative, or another representative from a different government or nonprofit agency, to the classroom to learn about the students’ efforts to reduce water consumption and increase awareness of water issues.
Full Project Description
Students share their experiences of doing the water assessments, taking action, and the lessons learned.
The representative may also present the class with the Green Star Schools (GSS) Classroom Certificate in Water Conservation to recognize all of the students’ accomplishments with “greening” their classroom, school, and community-at-large.
During this time, the teacher and students can post and share photographs and videos of the classes’ work to the GSS website and social media.
