Action Project:

Presentation by an Expert and Take Action

Brief Description of the Project

Request and receive a presentation by professionals/community members specializing in local water issues. Students take action based on what they learn.

Full Project Description

Students research (or the teacher will select) local professionals, active residents, and non-profit organizations that focus on a water issue of their interest (topics may be suggested by the teacher). At the discretion of the teacher, students or the teacher will request one or more of these identified entities to make a presentation to their class about a water issue and the work that they do to resolve the issue.

Students follow the guest presentation with a “taking action” activity such as educating others about what they have learned via posters, announcements, classroom presentations, etc.
