Action Project:

Water Conservation Campaign

Brief Description of the Project

Students plan a campaign to encourage reducing water use, preventing water pollution, and exploring alternatives to potable water.

Full Project Description

Students will formulate strategies to reach out to other students, staff, and/or the community to reduce water consumption and prevent water pollution, and educate others about various uses of non-potable water.  For example, students may generate “fun fact” announcements and/or an incremental newsletter, and may create signs with water conservation tips to post in the bathrooms, hallways, and/or classroom. Students may also research and/or construct a rain garden, rain barrel, and/or rainwater harvesting program (On-site Water Retention from the Office of Sustainability) and present their findings to the class.
