Worm Composting at Taylor

Taylor set up worm bins with 3 classes as part of their Greening Taylor project!

Summary

Students utilized worm bins in Science classes to convert food waste into worm castings. Students fed three worm bins approximately 15 pounds of organic scraps per week. The castings were used in the Taylor Garden and in the newly planted succulent garden behind the D2 Science classroom.

435 Pounds of Compostables Diverted from School Waste Stream between August 22nd 2019 and March 13th 2020
Results: 4,201 lbs CO2e emmissions avoided
