Worm Farm

December 28 2020

The worm farm diveted 1.5 lbs a week from 11/7/19 until school was closed down 3/13/20. 

Summary

The OOS Schools Team came and worked with Ms. Valera’s class to set up their worm bin. The students learned the science of vermicomposting, met the red wiggler worms and learned how to care for their new worm bin and which scraps are best. After that, the students began to feed the worms with fruit and vegetable scraps each week.

 

Metrics

Students in Ms. Valera's class put their fruit and vegetables from lunch into the worm bin each week from November 7, 2019 through March 13, 2020.

1.5 Pounds of Mixed organics between November 7th 2019 and March 13th 2020
Results: 0 lbs CO2e emmissions avoided
