5th Grade Leadership Projects- Compost Club and Green Team

June 5 2020

Students in Mrs. Stevenson's class were given the opportunity to take on leadership roles at the school as part of the 5th grade curriculum. Twice a week, students went to work in both the Garden Club and the Green Team to help their schoool achieve waste reduction goals.

Summary

As part of the Garden Club, students also maintained a 3 bin backyard composting system in the school's garden. The Compost Club also organized to divert clean greens from the cafeteria to the backyard compost bin every week beginning in January.
