Cafeteria clean greens to backyard compost bins

June 5 2020

Students collected clean greens from the cafeteria twice weekly to the backyard compost system, to help divert waste from cafeteria lunches.

Summary

The Compost Club got organized to collect from the cafeteria beginning in January 2020 and were doing it until school ended on March 13th.

 

Metrics

Students collected approximately 5 lbs of clean greens from the salad bar and composted it in the school garden's compost bins.

45 Pounds of Mixed organics between January 6th 2020 and May 21st 2020
Results: 0 lbs CO2e emmissions avoided
