The CO2e reduction from this project was calculated based on the classroom improving recycling and producing less garbage (solid waste).

Summary

The students completed the following tasks:

Students performed a waste assessment of their classroom, which was facilitated by a team of 7^th graders at the school.
Students created and posted signage reminding fellow students to reduce waste and recycle.
Students implemented an organics collection (compost) bin into their classroom.
Students reviewed the waste assessment and revisited actions that they took at home and school to reduce waste. They celebrated those efforts during an Earth Day assembly.
